Overall Course Overview:
Humanitarian personnel experience tremendous challenges when managingteams to deliver humanitarian actions.To effectively managehumanitarian teams and realize the expected results especially incrisis or pressured situations, leadership and management skillsbecome critical. This course is designed and moderated by professional humanitarianswith the objective of transforming the leadership offered byhumanitarian organizations.Humanitarian Leadership examines thevalues, principles methodologies and challenges that underscorehumanitarian operations. The course goes beyond theory. Using real-life examples, the course isdesigned to empower national and international managers within the aidsystem so they can acquire skills to manage their teams and positively impact on communities and organizations involved in humanitarianoperations.

Course Objectives:

Promote humanitarian standards and principles in managing crisis situations
Develop capacity to work with humanitarian teams effectively
Acquire values expected of those working in humanitarian situations
Acquire tools for designing and effectively managing humanitarian programmes
Focus on results based approach in managing humanitarian operations
Communicate effectively in humanitarian and hostile environments

Assignments
There are nine assignments (continuous assessment tests),research paper and one examination to be offered at the end of the course. Assignments account for 60%,research paper accounts for 30% while Examination accounts for 10% of the marks. Upon completion of the course you shall be issued with a Diploma Certificate and a course transcript.

Examination
Certificate and Transcripts will be sent after successful completion of the course.
